Happy "White Day"

Yesterday, March 14th, "White Day" is Celebrated in Japan.
In Japan Valentine's Day (February 14th) is celebrated slightly different :women give chocolates to men (girlfriends to boyfriends and also there is a custom at work where female employees give chocolate to their male co-workers).

Thus, they also celebrate "White Day" which is a day when men return gifts in appreciation of what they received on Valentine's Day. Men buy chocolates for women and it is quite common that men at work buy chocolate for their female co-workers. These gifts are usually more expensive than those they received in February, this because men are supposed to have a better position within the company.

I didn't receive chocolates, but I got a white bear :D

Happy White Day!

Tabaco Passport?

From March of this year, the Tobacco Institute of Japan will start this campaign in which non underage (above 20) smokers will receive a "TASPO" (Tacabo Passport) card which will allow them to buy cigaretes on vending machines.
Whoever's been to Tokyo knows there is more than one vending machine in each block of the city.

They will deliver these TASPO electronic cards all over Japan and from July of this year, every single vending machine will have this system, which will prevent underage smokers from purchasing cigarettes.

This is what Japanese use technology for.

(I wish they also prohibited to smoke indoors...)
